With the aim of raising indoor air quality levels in buildings and making air quality management extremely simple, Daikin is now making possible the full integration of the Daikin Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Sensor with the Daikin Modular T Air Handling Unit (AHU). Such integration will be extended to all Daikin Air Handling Units by 2024.
This solution including a de-centralized air handling unit and an indoor environmental quality monitoring system, can easily be implemented in buildings, whether they are new projects or existing buildings, that is possible thanks to the very nature of a de-centralized ventilation system, which can help overcome structural constraints existing buildings might present, and that prevent them to be upgraded to more modern features.
Compactness is the defining feature of the new Daikin Modular T Series. With a maximum depth of 890 mm for the largest model, installation has never been simpler. Other sizes in the range are equally compact at 790mm, while the smallest unit is only 550mm deep. That ensures adaptation to the narrowest installation space, making the Series a valuable solution for all those projects dealing with space limitations and buildings’ structural constraints. In addition, larger models of this Series are supplied in sections for fast, easy transportation and handling.
The other important feature added to the latest air handling unit release by Daikin is the possibility for the Modular T to directly connect with the Daikin IEQ Sensor and benefit from its monitoring activity, making a full package solution able to make indoor environments healthier for occupants.
This full integration of IEQ Sensor and Modular T AHU brings a unique solution to the market with a unique feature - the IEQ Sensor’s to track and share information to the Modular T AHU, which is than able to automatically react and instantly adjust operations to improve comfort and air quality in the spaces that are being served.
Specifically, the sensor actively uses the data gathered from indoor spaces to adjust the AHU’s settings, so that the AHU goes on to improve the indoor air quality, automatically reducing concentrations of pollutants and small particles such as VOC, PM 10 and PM 2.5, as well as optimising oxygen, humidity and temperature levels.
The Daikin Modular T is a compact, all-in-one, de-centralized ventilation solution, that ensures breathing clean air in safe and healthy indoor environments. Available in five different sizes, with an air flow range from 200 m3/h up to more than 4000 m3/h, this AHU Series is able to provide ventilation, cooling, heating, and dehumidification for diverse applications, including schools, offices, gyms, shops.
The Daikin Modular T also offers an optimized design:
Together with a comprehensive choice of accessories, these features make the Modular T one of the most complete and compact AHU ranges on the market.
The new Daikin Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Sensor has been recently introduced in Daikin’s solutions portfolio. It is a powerful IoT device with a minimalistic design, able to measure peoples’ well-being in indoor spaces while perfectly fitting any interior design.
This sensor, that is able to track and monitor indoor conditions through a set of parameters measurements, allows managers to have a clear idea of the Indoor Air Quality status in the building they manage. Through parameters related to noise and light, it also measures environmental quality and comfort, plus electromagnetic pollution, which also affect peoples’ well-being.
Once installed, the IEQ Sensor can track values related to Indoor Air and Environmental comfort, transmitting them to Caelum - Daikin’s Indoor Air and Environmental Quality monitoring platform - which allows to easily see the status of IAQ and IEQ where sensors are installed. Furthermore, the web platform Caelum allows to easily generate report and video wall real time monitoring.
In addition to that, another feature is the possibility to set a notification system when thresholds on specific parameters are exceeded. In this way the system is able to send an alert message when there is a risk for deterioration of the indoor air and environmental quality levels set.
As well as measuring Indoor air Quality, the IEQ Sensor also measures environmental quality and comfort, plus electromagnetic pollution through parameters related to noise and light, which also affect peoples’ well-being, especially when they are spend a relevant amount of time in a given indoor space.
This new IEQ Sensor by Daikin guarantees stand-alone installation, and has 12 embedded different sensor that monitors 15 different parameters. It connects to the Wi-Fi network and can be easily configured through a dedicated configuration app and can be integrated to Daikin on Site – Daikin’s remote monitoring and smart maintenance solution.
