PROJECT
Daikin has played a key role in Porsche's latest project, supplying a comprehensive HVAC system to meet the building's cooling, heating and ventilation needs. The project involves a new car dealership in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Daikin's HVAC solution ensures optimal climate control and air quality, meeting the high standards required for such a high-profile facility.
NEEDS & SOLUTION
As well as meeting the cooling, heating and ventilation requirements, the other main objective of the project was to ensure hygienic air treatment. Daikin was chosen as a partner for this project because of its ability to effectively meet the customer's needs.
Daikin supplied both the Modular P and Professional air handling units as part of the air-conditioning system. A key factor in the customer's decision was Daikin's ability to provide a plug-and-play solution, with no compromise on efficiency and configurability, both important features for air handling units.
The Modular P unit is designed to operate efficiently over a wide temperature range from -25°C to +40°C and ensures from 700 m³/h to 21,000 m³/h airflow rate. It is available in 10 model sizes to accommodate the different building types and needs, and features plug-and-play controls for easy installation and set-up. It also features a counterflow plate heat exchanger with an energy efficiency of up to 92%, allowing to reduce energy consumption related to ventilation. Energy consumption is further minimised using electronically commutated centrifugal fans, controlled by Inverter technology to ensure precise operation. For comprehensive monitoring and management, the unit can relate to Daikin's Intelligent Touch Manager (iTM), allowing users to easily monitor and adjust settings.
Daikin AHU Professional unit is a tailor-made solution which allows more than 1000 possible combinations. It is part of the Daikin Professional Series that can offer highly flexible and customizable air handling unit solutions, suitable for many different applications. This unit is designed to provide a highly adaptable and efficient solution to air handling requirements, with an impressive airflow capacity ranging from 500 to 144,000 cubic metres per hour. Available in 22 different sizes, this unit offers a customisable approach tailored to the specific needs of the customer, balancing efficiency and cost to deliver optimum performance. One of the outstanding features of the Professional is its excellent flexibility. The unit is equipped with a factory-installed electrical control panel with Direct Digital Control (DDC). This advanced control system, combined with integrated sensors for CO2, temperature and humidity, ensures precise management of the various components. This setup allows sophisticated control of heat exchangers, including direct expansion heat exchangers. The system can handle single or multiple refrigerant circuits making it versatile for different configurations and requirements. The layout of the unit has been designed with modularity in mind, simplifying both transport and on-site assembly. This modular approach enhances convenience and flexibility, allowing efficient handling and installation in different environments.
