About the project
The two Daikin air Handling Units will serve the entire building of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Naples, providing classrooms, laboratories, and conference rooms with ventilation.
The project aimed at totally renovating the HVAC plants located on floor minus two, revamping Air Handling Units, ducts, all secondary pumps, and pipes.
The new AHUs had to provide better energy efficiency, helping reduce energy use, and had to be ERP and Eurovent compliant, also being compliant with requirements laboratories have in terms of hygiene, meeting then requirements, thanks to the highest filtration level Daikin can offer, counter flow heat exchanger option ensuring no contamination between exhaust and fresh air can happen, plus germicidal lamps to further sanitize air.
More about the project
The most challenging part of the project was being able to meet airflow, efficiency, and all other technical requirements, while being able to fit Air Handling Units in an underground plant, requiring reduced height – under 180 cm.
Units were supplied with factory electronic regulation and were designed with latest generation components (EC Brushless fans, germicidal lamps, remote control via Modbus, carbon filters for laboratories, counterflow exchangers), to all the needs in the project:
