Daikin launches new FWT-HTV Hi-Wall fan coil

Daikin announces the launch of its new FWT-HTV Hi-Wall fan coil unit range. Designed to improve comfort, efficiency and best-in-class indoor air quality, it offers many benefits and features advanced technology such as the Flash Streamer, Gin-ION, and PM 2.5 filters.

Product Overview

The wall-mounted units of Daikin’s new FWT-HTV range feature a redesigned external casing and Modbus gateway, further enhanced by a new control platform that includes both wireless and wired controller models. Featuring a Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) fan motor and a factory-fitted internal 3-way on/off valve, the unit offers a cooling capacity range of 2.4 to 5.2 kW and is available in five sizes, all in a 2-pipe configuration.

8 good reasons to choose it

The FWT-HTV range represents an ideal choice as it offers advanced features and technology. Designed to improve comfort, efficiency and indoor air quality, this range offers many benefits. Here are nine reasons why FWT-HTV is the best choice.

Reason #1: Highly efficient & quiet BLDC fan motor

Users now have a wider range of options to choose their preferred fan speed, including quiet mode. The BLDC indoor fan motor allows the fan speed to be adjusted seamlessly, ensuring smooth airflow and minimising noticeable changes in noise levels during speed transitions. In auto fan mode, fan rounds per minute (RPM) are automatically adjusted from 40% to 100%, based on operating conditions.

Reason #2: Integration of a built-in 3-way on/off valve

The FWT-HTV series is equipped as standard with an internal 3-way valve, specifically designed to ensure precise flow and thermal control within wall-mounted fan coils, improving system performance. Its compact design is ideal for small spaces allowing better room temperature management through dynamic control. The 3-way valve improves the balance and therefore the unit’s thermal comfort by regulating the water flow within the system.

Reason #3: Purified supply air

The units come with built-in Daikin Flash Streamer technology, effectively purifying indoor air. The streamer decomposes bacteria and mould absorbed on the filter by irradiating them with an advanced plasma electric discharge, It provides highly effective oxidative decomposition.

Reason #4: Compliant with LEED and BREEAM protocols

Thanks to its innovative features, the new FWT-HTV model may significantly contributes to obtaining credits for LEED and BREEAM green building protocols. Contributions can be within Indoor Environmental Quality and Energy and Atmosphere for LEED; whilst in: Management, Energy, Waste and Pollution chapters for BREEAM.

Reason #5: Quiet & Sleep mode

Once activated, Sleep mode provides a comfortable environment for a restful night's sleep. The set temperature is gradually increased or decreased to match normal sleeping temperatures. After a certain period, the algorithm increases the setpoint during cooling or decreases it during heating. In Quiet mode, the outdoor unit fan speed and compressor frequency are reduced to maintain an undisturbed environment.

Reason #6: Fan Stop Control to optimize comfort

The FWT-HTV series is equipped with a Fan Stop Control function. This feature can control the fan's behaviour when the room temperature reaches the user-set level by turning off the thermostat. This is achieved by adjusting a jumper setting, a small connector that can be moved to change the unit's settings.

Reason #7: Instant cooling

The Turbo Mode option provides maximum cooling for users who are seeking instant cooling. Once activated, the fan speed is set to Turbo and the compressor runs at maximum frequency to provide the highest cooling capacity. This ensures that the set temperature is reached more quickly. Turbo mode forces the fan to run at maximum speed for 20 minutes before returning to user settings.

Reason #8: Detecting faults or malfunctions in the system

The self-diagnosis feature helps identify any faults or malfunctions and alerts the user by blinking the LED lights. Error code diagnosis can be performed with the wireless remote control. Error code lists can be found in the Operating Manual (OM).
