Daikin's new R-32 Heat Pump - This week, Daikin is taking part in INTERCLIMA 2019, a major energy efficiency event in Paris. The event will showcase a comprehensive array of high-performance solutions for saving energy in buildings. Because of that, the trade fair will host installers, contractors, architects, engineers and distributors. They will have the opportunity to discover the most innovative and efficient solutions for more economical and comfortable buildings. In this context, Daikin is presenting a new heat pump prototype, the EWYT-B- with R-32.
Daikin legacy
Daikin has been steadily working to minimize the impact of its technologies on the environment around us. After launching R-32 refrigerant in split air conditioners in 2012 and air-cooled chillers in 2018, Daikin is now extending the use of R-32 refrigerant to heat pumps as well.
The new EWYT-B with R-32 opens doors to new opportunities. Just one year after introducing the first chiller in the industry to use R-32 refrigerant, Daikin is leading the way towards sustainability again. Keeping up with environmentally friendly product development.
Daikin's new R-32 Heat Pump as a sustainable choice
This new product aims at confining fossil fuels and older refrigerants to a minor role in space heating. Do you know that space heating requires 54%* of the energy demand for heating and cooling? It is a huge percentage if we consider that only a very limited share of this demand is satisfied by sustainable technologies. Daikin heat pump EWYT-B offers a new opportunity to reduce the environmental footprint of heating & cooling systems.
It is designed to satisfy heating & cooling demands from 75 to 650 kW. Therefore, it will be able to meet the heating & cooling demand of a wide variety of applications. For instance,
- residential buildings
- hotels
- offices
- industrial processes
All that makes Daikin's new heat pump EWYT-B a wise and better choice when compared to fossil fuels. But also wnen compared to standard refrigerants like the R-410A. The GWP (Global Warming Potential) of R-32 refrigerant is exactly one-third of that of R-410A refrigerant.
And it doesn’t stop with that. R-32, being a single component refrigerant, is much easier to recover and reuse, differently from R-410A. I fact, because the latter is a blend of refrigerants, it cannot be recycled.
