Daikin Showcases Advanced Data Center Cooling Solutions at DCD London

Written by Giulia | Sep 9, 2025 9:15:12 AM

Daikin’s Innovations Shaping the Future of Data Centers

Daikin will showcase its expertise in specialist data centre cooling at this year’s Data Centre Dynamics (DCD) event, which will take place in September at the Business Design Centre in London. A team of Daikin experts will be available to share insights on critical cooling strategies designed to enhance energy efficiency, operational resilience, and sustainability in mission-critical environments.

As data centre expansion accelerates, driven by the rapid growth of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and edge processing, Daikin is supporting operators with scalable, low-carbon cooling solutions engineered to manage increasingly high thermal loads.

Advanced Cooling Solutions for High-Demand Applications

Daikin has unveiled the Pro-C, its latest computer room air handler (CRAH), at DCW 2025. With a cooling capacity of 30–210 kW, the Pro-C offers a modular, flexible design that adapts seamlessly to any data centre layout. It combines high efficiency—through advanced chilled water heat exchangers, EC fans, and smart control valves—with proven reliability, thanks to advanced control strategies and automatic transfer switches that safeguard against power failures.

This launch further extends Daikin’s comprehensive portfolio for data centres, which includes:

  • Air-to-Water Free Cooling Chillers: designed to operate efficiently in ambient temperatures from –20°C to +55°C, these chillers take advantage of low outside air conditions to minimise mechanical cooling, reduce energy consumption, and extend equipment lifespan. With capacities ranging from 183 to 2154 kW, they are available with both scroll and Daikin-developed VFD screw compressors, delivering optimal part-load efficiency. The glycol-free options further improve efficiency while lowering maintenance requirements. In addition, Daikin’s proprietary refrigerant-cooled VFD ensures reliable performance under all operating conditions.
  • Intelligent Data Centre Manager (iDCM): an AI-powered control system that continuously monitors and optimises chiller operations, ensuring long-term efficiency and reliability.
  • Pro-W Fan Array Units: scalable cooling units available in four sizes (175–500 kW), designed for maximum flexibility to meet the requirements of data centres of any size, delivering both efficiency and resilience.
  • After-Sales Services: tailored preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, as well as real-time remote monitoring, to ensure uninterrupted performance.
  • Rental Cooling Equipment: flexible rental chiller solutions that provide additional redundancy when needed.

Expert Session

Join Daikin’s data centre experts at DCD London to discover cutting-edge cooling strategies designed for high-density, AI-driven environments.  Don’t miss our exclusive lunch session with Francesco Di Giovanni, Senior Consulting Engineer at Daikin, who will host a technical lunch session exploring the role of thermal management in the AI era. With over 15 years of experience across EMEA, Francesco will present strategies to improve Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE), manage system loads, and reduce the total cost of ownership. The session will highlight how intelligent cooling design can enable net-zero progress in both new and retrofit facilities.
