PROJECT
Daikin has supplied two air-cooled screw inverter heat pumps EWYD-BZ for cooling and heating purposes, to meet energy efficiency and reliability needs for two campus facilities of the CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Spain. What led the customer to choose Daikin was the leadership in the field of single-screw compressor technology, able to provide the customers’ HVAC plant with machine of undisputed reliability and impressive performance in terms of energy efficiency.

Daikin supported the CEU Cardenal Herrera University by supplying the best product and professional service, meeting their needs for reliability, high efficiency, and product quality. Among the main drivers for the chillers choice there was the Daikin screw inverter compressor.
It is in-house designed and manufactured and stands out not only for very high energy efficiency, but also for top reliability, proved by thousands and thousands of successful installations over decades. The Daikin screw inverter compressor is optimized to operate as efficiently as possible with the refrigerant featured with the chiller, and also presents mechanical features essential to guarantee the level of reliability associated with the Japanese brand. The Daikin screw inverter compressor, not only continuously adjust compressor speed to actual demand, allowing fewer power-consuming start and stop, resulted in decreased energy consumptions and more stable temperatures. Differently from a standard screw compressor, it uses one main screw meshing with twin star rotors to produce volume matching compression cycle. Due to the main rotor, balanced in both radial and axial direction, the compressor bearing has extremely high reliability. Therefore, its life span can be longer than other screw compressors. The single screw compressor, then, has only three moving parts. As a result of that, it reduces the possibility of failure and keeps operation costs low.
