New 3x3 Cassette fan coil unit FWC-D

Daikin is pleased to announce the launch of the new FWC-D 3x3 Cassette fan coil unit. This product line features a BLDC fan motor and "open protocol" control capability and, along with the 2x2 range FWF-D, completes the new BLDC Cassette lineup. The BLDC fan-motor offers significant advantages in terms of reduced power consumption and lower noise levels. Its cooling capacity is from 6 to 9.7 kW and is available in two-panel layouts: standard and design panel.

5 good reasons to choose the FWC-D 3x3 Cassette range

Here are 5 great reasons to choose this type of product and why we recommend it:

Reason #1: 2 and 4 pipe structure. This unit is available in two configurations: 2-pipe or 4-pipe. The 2-pipe version is ideal for situations where a seasonal changeover of operating mode is foreseen, as it operates with a simpler system using a single water circuit. The 4-pipe version, on the other hand, has separate circuits for hot and cool water, making it an excellent choice for applications where simultaneous heating and cooling of different rooms is required. This solution is therefore more flexible and convenient as it can better adapt to the various thermal needs of different areas within the same building, offering greater control and comfort options.

Reason #2: Factory-mounted valves. Thanks to the factory-mounted valves, ease and speed of installation are offered, reducing installation time. This approach also ensures greater reliability as the valves are assembled at the factory in compliance with Daikin’s high-quality standards. The additional drain pan is available as accessory to ensure a safer installation and protection against condensation water.

Reason #3: 4 possible diffusion panels. This system allows air to be distributed through 4 outlet panels, providing a more even distribution within the ambient and improving thermal comfort. It also allows the air to be directed in different directions, ensuring uniform climate control and optimum temperature regulation in the whole environment. The panels available are the standard panel and the design panel. The design panel is available in white or black as a decorative option. What differentiates this range from other cassette FCU models is, for the first time, the option of a black decoration panel.

Reason #4: Open protocol. The open protocol feature allows to use a standardised communication protocol that allows interaction with other devices within the building management system (BMS) or HVAC system. This facilitates integration with larger systems and different manufacturers. In addition, being based on an open standard, maintenance and repairs can be carried out more easily by different technicians without the need for specialised knowledge of a proprietary system. It also enables complete integration with other Daikin FCU controllers such as FWEC3A/FWEC10/FWECSAP.

Reason #5: Brushless Direct Current fan motor. The BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) motor, which operates on direct current and has no brushes, offers several advantages in terms of energy efficiency and reliability. These motors are highly efficient, using less energy to deliver the same power as an AC motor, helping to reduce operating costs. In addition, the absence of brushes means less wear and tear on the motor's components, extending its life and reducing maintenance requirements. A further benefit is quieter operation compared to conventional motors, making them ideal for environments where reduced noise is essential, such as offices. Additionally, the condensate pump, included as a standard feature, is equipped with a DC motor, which helps reduce energy consumption. This is because the DC motor uses less electricity compared to AC motors, offering more precise control of speed and power, thus requiring less energy to perform the same operation.
