The Rolex Swan Cup is one of sailing’s most revered regattas. The 1984 edition marked the beginning of Rolex’s relationship with the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) in Sardinia, Italy. It was also notable for the coming together of the Swiss watchmaker and the Finnish shipyard, Nautor Swan. In 2024, the Rolex Swan Cup celebrates 40 years, drawing over 100 yachts for a display of racing prowess and camaraderie from 15 to 21 September.
After years of successful business relationship with Randstad, Daikin decided to participate in this initiative by sponsoring the Randstad Sailing team and its sail boat, the Randstad Kallima. It is 82 feet and one of the world’s most elegant and performing sailing boats. It will cut trough the sea of Costa Smeralda, embodying the values of all the partners of the sailing team. Furthermore, the team is composed of professional yachtsmen together with employees of partners, passionate about sailing. In this context, Michele Piscopo, Service & Solution Business Manager in Daikin Applied Europe, is being part of the team for this competition.
It is the first time Daikin is sponsoring a sailing team, and the decision to take this step is following our core values: Absolute Credibility, Enterprising Management, and Harmonious Personal Relations (more info here). Indeed, within a team, each member shall be committed to build harmonious relationships, based on trust. As well, a successful team requires to be properly motivated, and each team member involved to take part in reaching the common goal. All these concepts are embodied in a sailing team, representing what Daikin organization is committing to in its activities.
