Daikin recently supplied two air-cooled chillers from the EWAD-C Series. The units featuring the Daikin single screw compressor and R-134a refrigerant were chosen to meet cooling needs in a mosque in Al Ain, in the United Arab Emirates.

The main challenges & solutions
The project aimed at replacing old chillers experiencing frequent breakdowns due to leakages, compressors and other critical components frequently failing. For this reason, the customer's first requirements were absolute reliability, durability, and high energy efficiency.
To meet these needs Daikin provided air-cooled chillers with Daikin single-screw compressors, which are not only known for being extremely efficient but are also specifically designed for operations in high ambient and corrosive environments. Adding to that, the solution provided also featured condenser coils made of body Aluminium “Long Life Alloy” Microchannel Coils, which can provide superior resistance to corrosion compared to standard Aluminium alloy.
Besides meeting customers’ needs from a reliability and efficiency perspective, Daikin had to offer collateral services such as existing valve replacement, installation of new pipelines and full system operational activation.
